Job Description
Oracle Enterprise Engineering designs, builds, and supports mission-critical enterprise applications and platforms that power internal business operations. Our CX team supports Oracle's sales organization through CRM, Oracle Fusion Sales, and sales and marketing applications.
We develop scalable, secure, and reliable software, modernize existing applications, and integrate cloud-native and Generative AI capabilities to improve business processes.
As an IC4 Software Developer, you will take ownership of complex technical solutions, lead delivery across teams, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Work arrangement: Remote or hybrid arrangements are subject to team requirements and Oracle policies. These arrangements may change, including a future requirement to work from an Oracle office.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain complex enterprise applications, backend services, REST APIs, microservices, and integrations.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs, implementation specifications, and software solutions.
- Investigate and resolve challenging technical issues through code analysis, system logs, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
- Implement preventive solutions, optimize system performance, and maintain production stability through ongoing maintenance and updates.
- Configure application features and customize software settings to meet business requirements.
- Define project scope, develop delivery plans, coordinate resources, and manage timelines, dependencies, milestones, and risks for medium-sized projects.
- Assess the impact of system changes and drive change management, stakeholder communication, and implementation with minimal disruption.
- Strengthen engineering quality through automated testing, code reviews, version control, CI/CD, and secure development practices.
- Integrate AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities into enterprise applications and workflows.
- Lead collaboration with cross-functional teams and communicate technical decisions, progress, and risks to technical and business stakeholders.
- Drive improvements in development, implementation, and support processes using stakeholder feedback and operational insights.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical guidance, and contribute to candidate interviews and hiring assessments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript, with sound knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Experience designing and delivering complex enterprise applications, REST APIs, backend services, microservices, and system integrations.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and software architecture principles.
- Experience with cloud technologies and building scalable, secure, reliable applications.
- Experience with AI/ML, particularly Generative AI, and its application to software solutions.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, and production troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews, version control, CI/CD, and Agile development.
- Demonstrated ownership of technical delivery, including project planning, risk management, and coordination across teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, and technical mentoring skills.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Sales, CRM platforms, or sales and marketing applications.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-native application development.
- Python programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and intelligent automation.
- Experience configuring and extending enterprise applications.
- Experience improving change management, release processes, and operational efficiency.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
- Do I have at least eight years of software development experience, with strong hands-on skills in Java and JavaScript
- Can I describe a complex enterprise application or integration that I owned from technical design through deployment and production support
- Can I demonstrate how I diagnosed a challenging production issue, resolved its root cause, and prevented recurrence
- Have I planned and delivered a medium-sized project, managed risks and system changes, collaborated across teams, and mentored junior engineers
