Job Description:
. Design, develop,and optimize optical coating solutions and photonics devices with a focus onlaser applications.
. Review technicaldata packages and engineering drawings received through RFQs.
. Develop new productofferings utilizing technologies such as Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) andMagnetron Sputtering (MS).
. Perform coatingdesign analysis based on customer specifications and ensure RFQ activities arecompleted within established turnaround time (TAT) KPIs.
. GenerateSpecification Review Forms (SRFs), when required, to address technicalconstraints and propose solutions aligned with company capabilities.
. Support Sales &Marketing (S&M) during customer visits, technical reviews, and assessmentsof new requirements.
. Prepare and provideevaluation reports for NPI products.
. Carry out processand product development, qualification activities, and tooling design for NPIproducts.
. Ensure readinessfor Pre-FAT and FLP activities by preparing engineering checklists, BOMtemplates, ECNs, and ECOs.
. Develop andmaintain process plans, test plans, routings, SOPs, in-process control plans,and FAT review forms.
. Provide trainingand technical guidance to production technicians on work instructions andprocesses.
. Support productionduring FAT and FLP builds and resolve all technical issues related to NPIproducts.
. Analyze andsummarize issues identified during FAT and FLP activities, and implementnecessary changes to material drawings, process plans, routings, and yieldimprovement initiatives.
. Participate inphase-gate reviews to ensure the successful transfer of products from FAT/FLPstages to mass production.
. Prepare and submitProcess Review Forms upon completion of FAT/FLP activities.
. Conduct failureanalysis on field returns, identify failure modes, and recommend corrective andpreventive actions to prevent recurrence.
. Identifyopportunities for process improvement and continuous improvement (CI) projectsto enhance yield, quality, and cycle time.
. Provide technicalsupport to manufacturing operations as required.
Job Requirements:
. Bachelor's Degreein Science, Engineering, Optics, Physics, or a related field. A Master's or PhDin Engineering is preferred.
. Minimum 5 years ofexperience in the development and manufacturing of optical coating productsusing IBS, MS, and PVD technologies for OEM medical device, semiconductor,optoelectronics, or avionics industries.
. Strong experiencein designing and optimizing complex optical coatings.
. Strong expertise inthin-film deposition processes involving metals, alloys, dielectric materials,and polymers.
. Proficiency inthin-film design software such as OptiLayer and FilmStar.
. Experience withoptical fabrication processes is an advantage.
. Experience inAutoCAD and/or SolidWorks for jig and fixture design.
. Experience with SAPis an added advantage.
. Strong knowledge ofPVD technologies, including Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS), Magnetron Sputtering(MS), Thermal Evaporation, E-Beam Evaporation, Ion-Assisted Evaporation, andReactive Evaporation.
. Strong knowledge ofthe optical and physical characterization of coating materials, includingstress and coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE).
. Ability to programand operate optical monitoring and crystal monitoring systems.
. Strong knowledge ofmeasuring coating spectral performance using instruments such as Lambda 1050,Varian Cary 7000i, and other spectrophotometers.
. Hands-on experienceoperating IBS, MS, and PVD coating systems to test and evaluate coatingdesigns.
. Strong root-causeanalysis and troubleshooting skills for coating process, cosmetic, and coatingdurability issues.
. Excellentanalytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
. Ability to workeffectively in a cross-functional and manufacturing environment.
