Principal Engineer - Product/Test

We are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer – Product Test to join our client's team in Penang as part of the worldwide Communications Business Unit (CBU). In this role, you will work with state-of-the-art technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, PCIe, ASA PHY, NAND Flash, and DDR to develop ATE test programs and perform product characterization. You will collaborate closely with design teams to develop cost-effective, high-coverage test solutions while supporting new product introduction (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality and cost-effective test programs using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) for both wafer and package testing.
• Collaborate with design teams to generate and optimize ATPG vectors.
• Design and develop test hardware, including Probe Cards, DUT Boards, and Burn-In Boards
• Develop and implement standardized test methodologies across multiple products.
• Perform characterization and correlation studies across split lots using ATE.
• Work with reliability engineers to define product and package qualification requirements.
• Conduct statistical analysis of test data to validate correlation between laboratory, ATE, and datasheet specifications.
• Support operations teams during NPI startup and high-volume manufacturing deployment.
• Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve yield-related issues following MRB processes.
• Drive yield improvement initiatives and test time reduction to lower manufacturing costs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Good understanding of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for quality and reliability testing.
• Good knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies.
• Experience with Advantest V93K is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of semiconductor fundamentals and CMOS circuits.
• Strong scripting and programming skills in C, C++, Python, Perl, UNIX, or Linux.
• Strong analytical with problem-solving skills, and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage timelines and meet project schedules.
