Principal Engineer – Technical Program Management

PRINCIPAL ENGINEER-TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

Location: Bayan Lepas, Pulau Pinang

Working Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days WFO + 2 days WFH)

We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer – Technical Program Management to lead and coordinate semiconductor development programs across multiple engineering functions. This role will work closely with Digital Design, Physical Design, DFT, Layout, Mixed Signal, CAD, and Flow Development teams to drive successful IP and SoC development projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of semiconductor backend functions, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across global teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones, including Design, Implementation, DFT, Layout, CAD, and Mixed Signal teams.
• Plan, develop, monitor, and track tasks across IP and SoC development, CAD flow development, vendor tool deployment, and post-silicon test ecosystem activities.
• Establish and facilitate risk management processes for new projects and initiatives.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to align objectives, priorities, and project deliverables.
• Lead periodic project review meetings to collect status updates, identify issues, and drive inter-team alignment.
• Track project schedules, milestones, and dependencies to ensure timely execution.
• Present project status, risks, and progress updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between engineering teams and customers, ensuring feedback is effectively addressed.
• Drive project execution to achieve goals related to quality, customer satisfaction, and business objectives.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for project management processes and engineering collaboration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of semiconductor industry experience.
• Prior hands-on experience in at least two semiconductor backend functions, such as Synthesis, DFT, Layout, Physical Verification, Reliability, or Flow Development.
• Experience managing semiconductor engineering deliverables and cross-functional development programs.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor development workflows and project dependencies.
• Experience using project management tools such as JIRA and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Effective team player with the ability to motivate and influence cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, multi-location environment.
