Job Description

Your Tasks:

  • Lead development projects in the area of Plano-Plano processing of (optical) glass and optical components, from concept through to implementation, ensuring the timely and successful completion of projects.
  • Develop and implement new processes and technologies that improve product quality, reduce costs and increase manufacturing efficiency.
  • Analyze and optimize process capability and yield, and identify and eliminate root causes of process issues using statistical process control and statistical experiment design.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including process flow diagrams, control plans and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Application Engineering, Global R&D, Process Engineers (Production) and Quality to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in the area of Plano-Plano processing, and evaluate their potential for adoption within the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, by identifying and implementing best practices and process improvements.
  • Manage projects within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by superior.

Your Profile:

  • At least Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a process development role, with a focus on Plano-Plano processing.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing new processes and technologies in the area of Plano-Plano processing.
  • Experience working in a global organization is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of Plano-Plano processing processes of glass, including grinding and lapping. Knowledge in abrasive-surface interaction.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control and statistical experiment design.
  • Familiarity with the use of JMP software.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management, including budget and timeline management.
