We are seeking Principal Equipment Engineer to develop, procure and install high volume automated assembly, test equipment and tooling used in the production of our unique 3D cell architecture.
Responsibilities
- Support development of customized automation equipment including system design, development, and commissioning
- Work with supplier partners to optimize system design and performance
- Support manufacturing process scale up activities and production ramp
- Debug current issues, improve cycle times, yields, equipment uptime
- Support escalation activities and troubleshoot production equipment
- Use equipment performance data to drive improvement projects
- Initiate continuous improvement plans for existing equipment
- Institute statistical process controls on applicable manufacturing equipment
- Effectively communicate and publish learning, experimental results, etc.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Environmental Management System (EMS) as per ISO 14001:2015 requirements.
- Ensure environmental responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with organizational policies and applicable environmental regulations.
- Participate in environmental awareness and training programs.
- Identify and report potential environmental risks or nonconformities.
- Support continual improvement of environmental performance and compliance with EMS objectives.
- Take reasonable care for the environment and follow procedures to prevent pollution or harm
Qualifications
- BS/MS Degree Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- 5+ years of experience with automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing, semiconductor processing, converting, precision cutting, or similar field is a plus.
- Familiarity with microscopes, measurement tools, and basic mechanical skills.
- Experience in mechanical dicing process and equipment.
- Experience in laser process, fiber laser.
- Work closely with laser vendors to evaluate upgrades (optics, galvos, beam expanders, cooling systems).
- Support FAT/SAT, tool qualification and integration of new roll-to-roll laser platforms.
- Define preventative maintenance procedures for optics cleaning, beam alignment, and galvo calibration.
- Familiarity with automation components and tools including PLCs, pneumatics, motors, digital and analog IO, temperature controllers, and CAD
