Job Description:
The Role: Engineer II, Manufacturing Engineering (Process) The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining injection molding processes for APS Process Carrier engineering molding products. This role involves utilizing scientific molding principles to ensure high-quality production, troubleshooting process issues, and training other engineers. The Senior/Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to design and validate new molds, supports automation integration, and provides technical training on new molding technologies. They respond to customer complaints, ensure compliance with quality standards, and contribute to cost reduction and efficiency enhancement efforts. What You'll Do:
- Advise process engineers and technicians, providing guidelines for optimal molding conditions.
- Maintain knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) procedures to reduce scrap and produce quality parts. Establish and enhance SPC control and practices.
- Coordinate and sample new tools and materials to determine the most appropriate methods for manufacturing company products. Document new tools and materials extensively. Review capability studies on new and existing tools and processes, recommending corrective actions for areas not meeting specifications.
- Determine control dimensions on new and existing jobs, improving existing process flow through LEAN optimization techniques.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of cost structures to determine profit margins per job.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of production materials, resins, mold construction tooling, and related molding items and tools.
- Promote a safety culture and adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing required protective equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting automation integration, providing technical training, responding to customer complaints, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure the highest possible product quality and adherence to Entegris's Quality System, ISO, and other standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned. What We Seek:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Polymer/Material/Mechanical or related).
- At least 5 years of experience in injection molding process engineering.
- Proficiency in scientific molding principles and techniques.
- Expertise in Plastic Injection Molding automation solutions.
- Experience in project management.
- Knowledge of Scientific Injection Molding and SPC.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot process issues.
- Experience with AI/ML incorporation in manufacturing practices, including conventional MES systems.
- Ability to teach and implement Design of Experiments.
- Experience in tooling development and modifications. Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
