Process Engineer

Job Description

  • Participate in ITB/tender studies, review client requirements, and prepare clarifications and technical documents.
  • Develop process design basis in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Prepare and review Process Engineering deliverables, including H&MB, PFDs, P&IDs, process design basis, equipment data sheets, process calculations, line sizing, hydraulic calculations, PSV/relief system calculations, and control valve sizing.
  • Perform and support process simulations and engineering calculations using HYSYS, PRO/II, FLARENET, FLARESIM, and other relevant software.
  • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and other safety/design review activities and incorporate agreed recommendations.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Civil/Structural, and Operations.
  • Liaise with clients, licensors, vendors, and third-party consultants on technical matters and resolve process-related issues.
  • Prepare and review Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE), vendor technical clarifications, and technical recommendations.
  • Support process design reviews, interdisciplinary reviews, client meetings, and technical query resolution.
  • Plan and manage assigned Process Engineering activities to meet project schedule, quality, and technical requirements.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve process engineering and design issues with appropriate consultation with the Lead/Senior Process Engineer.
  • Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and site activities, including troubleshooting of process-related issues.
  • Ensure Process Engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, company procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Independently execute assigned Process Engineering activities and apply engineering judgement to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Interpret and review PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, engineering specifications, and related technical documents.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical matters clearly in written and verbal English.
  • Perform other Process Engineering duties as assigned by the Lead/Senior Process Engineer or Process Manager.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 5–8 years of relevant process engineering/design experience with an engineering/consultancy company in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and/or Refinery industries.
  • Familiar with applicable international codes, standards and client specifications, particularly API, ASME,PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS), Shell DEP, etc.
  • Experience in Greenfield, Brownfield and plant modification projects is preferred.
  • Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and possess good interpersonal, communication, presentation and technical writing skills.
  • Experience in process engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS and/or PRO/II. Familiarity with FLARENET, FLARESIM, heat exchanger sizing/rating and other process engineering software is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in preparation and review of typical Process Engineering deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, process calculations and process specifications.
  • Experience in process simulation, line sizing/hydraulic calculations, PSV/relief system design, control valve sizing and equipment sizing is preferred.
  • Experience in HAZOP/HAZID, SIL and other process safety reviews is an advantage.
  • Experience in Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE), vendor document review and technical clarification with vendors.
  • Experience in proposal preparation and tender/ITB activities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities is an advantage.
  • PC literate with good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good command of English, both spoken and written.
  • Willing to travel and be stationed at project sites when required.
  • Preferable immediate joiner or able to join by Oct 2026
