Job Summary: OSIsoft's PI application is used throughout the ExxonMobil Upstream business to support data acquisition and surveillance workflows. PI captures data from a multitude of sources (L3 DCS, manual input, flat file, XML, other applications, etc) and historizes the data, as well as performing calculation. PI is critical to providing data to a multitude of other systems & interfaces (client tools, other servers including Energy Components, XHQ, etc.) The PI Analyst position includes providing implementation work and ongoing support for the application within ExxonMobil. Prior experience implementing and supporting OSIsoft PI is a requirement for this position.
Primary Job Functions:
- Manage PI tags, implement Asset Framework (AF) templates, PI Datalink manual entry templates and develop/troubleshoot calculations (include ACE code, Performance Equations, and AF Analytics).
- Address break/fix issues troubleshoot and remediate issues where interfaces or other components of the PI system have failed.
- Business Consulting Answer/research questions from the business users. Collaborate with business users in defining/refining scope for work requests. Coordinate reviews, conduct monthly stewardship meeting with business stakeholders.
- Work with other reporting and analytics applications e.g., Energy Components, XHQ, SEEQ to resolve data integrity issues.
- New Operations & Expansion Projects - PI is a standard tool deployed to most EM operated production sites. This role participates in the implementation or expansion of PI at EM-operated sites.
- Digitalization work as PI contains process data, it is fundamental to many digital activities in ExxonMobil's business, including data science activities.
- Redundancy/High-Availability work significant work planned to implement high availability models for PI at our production locations.
- Develop and maintain PI integration tool such as PI Integrator, PI Web API, and PI Vision (for visualization)
- Develop and maintain technical training plans.
- Develop recommended standards and technical designs.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Information Systems, Computer Science, etc.)
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated relevant work experience (preferably in OSIsoft's PI suite of products)
- Able/willing to work on flex hours: 9am 5pm (Morning shift) / 4pm 12am (Evening shift)
- Demonstrated analytical and communications skills. Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work in a team environment, with a preference for experience working in global teams.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Prior work experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Experience with end user application support
- Experience working with Global IT service lines (e.g., Infrastructure, Network) to resolve complex issues.
- Experience consulting with business lines to deliver IT solutions.
- Experience in regional and global projects
- Experience in Development/Automation area and Microsoft Azure Cloud would be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with the Agile working methodology
- Process engineering background
