Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a Procurement & Contracts Manager to oversee strategic procurement and contract management for data centre operations. This role combines operational procurement with legal contract drafting, review, and commercial management to ensure cost efficiency, compliance, and effective supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Procurement (50%)
- Manage end-to-end procurement for data centre operational requirements, including HVAC, electrical systems, UPS, generators, security, and facilities maintenance.
- Lead RFQs, RFPs, tender evaluations, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier performance, delivery schedules, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct supplier evaluations, onboarding, and risk assessments.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approval procedures.
2. Contract Drafting & Legal Review (50%)
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including SLAs, NDAs, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and equipment purchasing contracts.
- Review and manage contractual risks relating to liabilities, indemnities, warranties, liquidated damages, and termination rights.
- Develop and maintain SLAs, penalty matrices, and contractual remedies aligned with data centre requirements.
- Manage contract renewals, milestones, price escalations, and warranty expirations.
- Support dispute resolution, claims, and contract-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian regulations, including PDPA and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, and external stakeholders on procurement and contractual matters.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognised university.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience in legal contract drafting, contract management, and commercial procurement.
- Strong experience in contract negotiation, supplier management, and procurement operations.
- Familiarity with Malaysian legal and regulatory requirements.
- Professional legal qualifications, such as admission to the Malaysian Bar or Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP), will be an added advantage.
- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in data centre, infrastructure, engineering, or facilities-related procurement is an advantage.
