Category (Indirect Procurement)

Job Summary

The Procurement Category Manager (Indirect) is responsible for developing and executing category strategies for indirect spend, ensuring cost optimization, supplier performance, and compliance with company procurement policies. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders to support business needs while driving efficiency and value creation across indirect categories.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Sourcing

  • Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend (e.g. MRO, IT, Logistics, Facilities, Professional Services, CapEx, Marketing).
  • Lead sourcing activities including RFQ/RFP, negotiations, contract award, and supplier selection.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and demand management.

Supplier Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers.
  • Manage supplier performance through KPIs, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • ensure supplier compliance with commercial, legal, and ESG requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Operations, Finance, IT, HR, Engineering, Admin) to understand business needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on procurement best practices and market insights.
  • Align procurement strategies with business objectives.

Contract & Compliance

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, audit requirements, and internal controls.
  • Manage contract lifecycle including renewals and risk mitigation.

Market & Data Analysis

  • Conduct spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and risk exposure.
  • Monitor market trends, supplier landscape, and cost drivers.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for management review.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 58 years of procurement experience, with strong exposure to indirect categories.
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing and supplier negotiation.
  • Experience in manufacturing, MNC, or shared services environment preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Good analytical, commercial, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiar with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Coupa / Ariba preferred).
  • Good command of English; additional regional languages are an advantage.
