Procurement Protege Trainee(Ref. No. R1008148)

at our location in Kuala-Lumpur

You will enjoy having these responsibilities:

As a Protege in the Procurement department, you will be supporting the Australian Procurement team with the following:

  • Reviewing procurement requests and verifying their conformity to operating methods.
  • Transforming procurement requests into purchase orders.
  • Managing purchase order cancellation, updating purchase order information (item quantity, date, price, etc), expediting and any disputes or problems.
  • Analysing quotations and summarising for Category and Project Procurement teams.
  • Preparing Purchase Order Report.
  • Making sure suppliers acknowledge receipt of purchase order and provide delivery confirmation.
  • Ensuring accuracy of GL account or project number, ship to location, supplier information, and relevant notes and comments on the purchase order document.
  • The Procurement Officer will support the business for receipting and invoicing issues.
  • Managing local negotiations within the DoA threshold.
  • Achieving organisational objectives successfully by collaborating an interactive team.
  • Working effectively and collaboratively with teams and work groups directly or outside formal line of authority to accomplish organisational goals.
  • Attend regular departmental and cross-functional meetings.
  • Attend Procurement related training.
  • Expediting Report and Follow ups.
  • Ensure Suppliers deliver the order on time.
  • Ensure the Suppliers send their invoices to the correct AP email and that they are paid as per the payment terms.
  • Close POs that have been finalised (Order received and supplier paid).
  • Collate various monthly Procurement Reports.

You have:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good multitasking and organisational skills
  • Independent, proactive and self-motivated
  • Strong MS Office skills, for example, proficient knowledge of Sharepoint, SAP By design, Excel and PowerPoint, will be necessary throughout this role
  • The ability to manage shareholders and build strong relationships
  • The skills to grasp complex technical concepts quickly, including process flows and policies
  • The ability to collate information and produce comprehensive reports
  • An eye for detail and the ability to analyse problems and develop practical solutions
  • The skills to plan and organise workload and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
