Job Summary

This role is responsible to lead the end-to-end product development process from concept to commercialization while ensuring all products comply with local and international regulatory requirements. This role drives innovation, speed-to-market, product quality, and regulatory compliance across personal care, skincare and healthcare product categories.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead the development of new products and product improvements across personal care, skincare and healthcare categories.
  • Translate business, marketing, and consumer insights into viable product concepts and specifications.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle: ideation, formulation, testing, validation, pilot runs, and commercialization.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure product meet market needs, cost targets, and timelines.
  • Review and evaluate raw materials, formulations, packaging, and suppliers to ensure performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement on existing products (cost optimization, reformulation, quality enhancement).
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement, reformulation, cost optimization and quality enhancement.

Regulatory Affairs & Compliance

  • Oversee regulatory submissions, product registrations, renewals, and variations for local and export markets.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable regulations (NPRA, MOH, FDA-equivalent bodies).
  • Review product labels, claims, ingredients, and marketing materials to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and proactively assess impact on current and future products.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead, coach, and groom the team.
  • Assign projects, set priorities and ensure timely delivery of product and regulatory milestones.
  • Build team capability in formulations, documentation, regulatory knowledge, and project management.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure high standards of accuracy, compliance and execution.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage multiple development projects concurrently with clear timelines and deliverables.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Suppliers, Procurement to ensure launch readiness.
  • Prepare and present product updates, risks and recommendations to Management.
  • Support cross-functional decision-making on product feasibility, timelines, and launch readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 yeas of experience in product development within FMCG, cosmetic or healthcare industries.
  • Strong understanding of product formulation, development processes, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Solid knowledge of cosmetic and/or healthcare regulations.
  • Hands-on, execution-driven, yet able to think commercially and strategically.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance innovation, compliance, cost, and speed-to-market.
  • Good communication skills; able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
