Production Applications Support Engineer

You areresponsible for providing Level 1 and Level 1.5 support and administration for both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) applications used in plant operations.

This role ensures the availability, performance, and reliability of production and enterprise applications while supporting end users across production, engineering, and maintenance teams.

• Provide Level 1 and Level 1.5 support for enterprise and plant operational applications.

• Troubleshoot application issues and support incident resolution.

• Monitor application performance, availability, and system alerts.

• Perform daily administration of applications, including:

  • User account creation and access control

  • Application configuration and system parameter maintenance

• Support application deployment, updates, and patch management.

• Maintain application logs and monitor overall system health.

• Support plant operational applications such as:

  • Production monitoring systems

  • Operational dashboards

  • Plant reporting systems

  • Data collection platforms

• Ensure systems used by production, engineering, and maintenance teams operate reliably.

• Provide support for enterprise systems including:

  • Asset Management Systems (EAM)

  • Project Planning Systems

  • Internal operational applications

• Assist users with system access, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Handle application-related incidents and service requests.

• Conduct initial investigation and problem diagnosis.

• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or vendors when required.

• Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance indicators.

• Identify potential issues and perform preventive actions to ensure system stability.

• Ensure applications comply with organizational IT security policies and standards.

• Manage user access and permission controls.

• Support security patching and vulnerability remediation activities.

• Assist in internal audits and compliance checks related to application security.

• Maintain application documentation, configuration records, and support procedures.

• Update internal knowledge bases and technical documentation.

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Automation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, or related technical fields.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience inIT application support,OT / plant systems support, andIndustrial digitalization

• Experience in refinery, chemical plant, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments is preferred.

• Basic understanding of IT application support, system administration, and OT environments.

• Knowledge of database fundamentals (e.g., SQL) and enterprise applications is an advantage.

• Experience supporting manufacturing or operational systems such asPIMS (Plant Information Management System),LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), andEAM (Enterprise Asset Management)

• Experience supporting ERP platforms and coordinating ERP-related activities.

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, industrial automation, and IoT technologies.

• Exposure to sensors, gateways, and data acquisition platforms.

• Hands-on experience with production or manufacturing applications.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in operational environments.

• Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting capabilities.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
