Role Description

The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing of animal feed. The role ensures compliance with company policies and standards including Environment, Safety & Health (ESH), Feed Safety Management System (FSMS), GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and other regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Feed Mill and Warehouse.

- Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to meet production targets and customer demand.

- Ensure feed production is carried out according to approved formulations, SOPs, and quality standards.

- Monitor production efficiency, downtime, and yields, and implement corrective actions when required.

- Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, issuance, and dispatch of finished goods.

- Ensure accurate inventory management, proper stock control, and adherence to FIFO/FEFO practices and traceability requirements.

- Manage bulk material receiving and inventory such as maize, soybean meal, and crude palm oil.

- Optimize warehouse layout, storage methods, and housekeeping to ensure safe and efficient operations.

- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure machinery, equipment, and utilities are well maintained.

- Ensure preventive maintenance programs are implemented and maintenance records are properly maintained.

- Monitor equipment performance and breakdown trends, and implement corrective and preventive measures.

- Ensure staff are properly trained, competent, and aware of their responsibilities related to production and feed safety.

- Monitor departmental KPIs and take timely action to address performance gaps.

- Foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, safety, and feed safety within the department.

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost control.

- Coordinate effectively between production planning, raw material supply, and manpower deployment.

- Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
