Our client - an electronic & electrical manufacturing firm- is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and manage daily production operations in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all production activities, including SMT, assembly, and final manufacturing processes.
- Plan and organise manpower, machines, and materials to meet production schedules.
- Ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Monitor and improve production efficiency, productivity, and yield.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOP), 5S and safety regulations.
- Work closely with QA, engineering, planning, procurement, and logistics teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, cost reduction, OEE improvement).
- Monitor production KPIs and report performance to top management.
- Handle production issues, customer complaints, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Manage, coach, and develop production supervisors and line leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in contract manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and production planning.
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems.
- Able to work under pressure with tight customer deadlines.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an added advantage).
