Job Description
Program Manager - Assembly Automation will lead the end-to-end execution of assembly automation projects across VAT sites in Switzerland, Romania, and Malaysia. Own the rollout of standardized modules (servo presses, Helicoil inserts, robotic screwdriving, precision greasing, leak testing, cobots, and more). Coordinate with R&D, Engineering, IT, and integrators to deliver scalable, ergonomic, and cycle-time-optimized solutions. Manage full project lifecycles (> CHF 1M): from scope and vendor selection to FAT/SAT, training, and global rollout.
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Program Ownership: Manage the global automation roadmap for assembly for the upcoming 5 years; prepare investment cases, track benefits, and steer cross-site adoption.
- Solution Delivery: Lead project lifecycles (> CHF 1M) including scope, vendor selection, simulation, FAT/SAT, training, and hand-over.
- Standards & Governance: Drive global standards for modules, controls, safety, and documentation; maintain a replication playbook.
- Deployment: Steer the implementation of smart Cobot stations, leak testers, servo press systems, digital screwdrivers, and greasing units across CH, RO, and MY sites.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on equipment selection, technology strategy, production flow design, use-case business case validations, and roadmap alignment.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and translate productivity gains in assembly processes into tangible use cases for business case validation and drive cross-site standardization of automation modules.
- Integration: Align with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, IT, and integrators for seamless local deployment.
- Documentation: Steer workflows, investment cases, and compliance documentation for automation initiatives.
