Job Description

Position: Project Coordinator

Company: AQUFISH TECHNOLOGY SDN BHD

Location: Hybrid

Duration: 1-Year Contract (Renewable)

Experience: Fresh Graduate / Entry Level

Salary: RM 1,700/month

About Aqufish

Aqufish is a Malaysian-born social enterprise transforming the aquaculture industry with automation, AI, and real-time monitoring technologies. Our product, Aqumonitor, is an intelligent system that helps farmers improve fish growth, optimize feeding, and monitor environmental health.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly organized Project Coordinator to act as the engine behind our latest Cradle-funded project. You will bridge the gap between our R&D Engineers (who build the tech) and the Business Requirements (milestones, field testing, and grant compliance). This is not a desk-bound job. You will manage timelines using Excel, coordinate field deployments at fish farms, and ensure our AI & Hardware teams hit their targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Timeline & Milestone Management

  • Manage the master schedule to ensure the team hits key R&D targets on time:

Phase 1 (Design): Finalizing technical drawings for high-pressure hardware (>5m depth) and initial dataset collection.

Phase 2 (Prototyping): Coordinating the installation of 3 Aqumonitor units at the test bed.

Phase 3 (Pilot): Managing the final Proof of Concept (POC) deployment with pilot farmers.

  • Monitor the Definition of Done for every phase to ensure quality standards are met before moving forward.

2. R&D & Procurement Coordination

  • Track the progress of the hardware and software teams to prevent bottlenecks.
  • Manage Procurement: Compile quotations, prepare LOIs (Letters of Intent), and handle purchasing for hardware components (e.g., waterproof mounts, sensors).
  • Ensure the AI team meets data targets, such as collecting and annotating 500+ images for specific species.

3. Field Logistics & Stakeholder Communication

  • Coordinate logistics for site visits, including travel arrangements and equipment transport for testing.
  • Serve as the primary liaison during field tests (durability testing, optical performance checks).
  • Maintain constant communication with the team via WhatsApp and meetings to resolve daily blockers.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Compile data for Monthly Progress Reports to track project health.
  • Organize project documentation (invoices, design files, testing results) for easy access and internal auditing.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Background: Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Business, Management, or Science. (Engineering grads interested in management are encouraged).
  • Tech-Savvy: You don't need to code, but you must understand the basics of IoT, Hardware, or Data to communicate effectively with engineers.
  • Tool Proficiency: Mastery of Excel (for timelines/budgeting) and WhatsApp (for fast coordination) is essential.
  • Personality:

Chaser: You are comfortable following up with team members repeatedly to ensure tasks are completed.

Field-Ready: Willing to travel to fish farms for deployments when needed.

Why Join Us

  • Real Project Management: Gain end-to-end experience managing a full product lifecycle, from design to real-world deployment.
  • Impact: Your work directly contributes to food security and sustainable farming.
  • Hybrid Flexibility: Work remotely for documentation tasks, with on-site action for deployments.
