The client is a civil engineering firm specializing in infrastructural projects, delivering quality and compliant building construction solutions.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead building construction projects from planning to handover, ensuring safe, timely, cost-effective delivery with high quality while managing diverse stakeholders and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead building construction projects by setting clear direction and driving project execution from planning through completion to achieve project goals
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety performance to meet targets and comply with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to align project objectives and resolve issues promptly
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams including Project Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and site personnel to meet project milestones
  • Review and approve construction programmes, resource allocation, budgets, and deliverables to ensure project feasibility and compliance
  • Monitor project progress continuously and implement corrective actions to address delays, risks, or quality concerns
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, contractual matters, and potential delays to minimize impact on project outcomes
  • Ensure strict compliance with Building and Construction Authority (BCA) requirements, building regulations, workplace safety standards, and company policies
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders to maintain transparency
  • Manage project variations, claims, procurement processes, and commercial matters to protect project interests
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, enforce quality control measures, and ensure timely handover of completed projects
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency, productivity, and construction processes

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or related discipline recognized by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA)
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience managing major building construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore construction practices and statutory requirements
  • Proven leadership and project management skills in multidisciplinary team environments
  • Proficient in project planning, cost control, contract management, quality assurance, and workplace safety

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Relevant professional certifications and/or recognized construction-related qualifications
