Project Engineer

Job Title: Project Engineer (Manufacturing/Production/Fabrication)

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Sungai Buloh, Selangor (On-site)

Job Summary:

This is a key role in bridging the Designing Team and Production Team. You will act as the communicator and coordinator between both parties, ensuring smooth project execution, effective problem-solving, and continuous improvement of product quality and processes. This role also involves supporting project operations, quality control, and driving process efficiency across functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise all work related to the manufacturing process, technical issues, documentation, specifications, and other tasks assigned by the Manager.
• Act as the liaison between design and production teams to translate technical requirements into practical solutions and ensure alignment on deliverables.
• Provide solutions and drive improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Ensure manufacturing processes are in place and schedules are adhered to at all times.
• Develop, release, and maintain technical documentation to support production and customer/supplier requirements, such as Technical Sheets, Bill of Materials (BOM), Manufacturing Hours, Work Instructions, Technical Notes, and Manufacturing Plans. Update all technical documentation in line with the latest data configuration, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs according to commercial and project targets.
• Liaise with Procurement for material planning, supplier engagement, and project requirements.
• Work closely with suppliers/subcontractors to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
• Support internal quality control by addressing non-conformance, driving corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with product specifications.
• Support and contribute to continuous improvement in both product and process quality.
• Manage timelines effectively, balancing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of production operations with the ability to adapt in dynamic and ambiguous situations.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks/AutoCAD and able to interpret and create engineering drawings.
• Equipped with project management skills, strong time management, and the ability to coordinate across multiple parties.
• Knowledge of metalworks and manufacturing processes is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise between design, production, procurement, and quality teams.
• Results-oriented, proactive, and a self-starter with leadership potential.
• Experience in Quality Inspection/Assurance is an added advantage.
