Role: Project Finance Lead
Candidate's Location : Singapore / Malaysia / Philippines
Summary:
The Project Finance Lead is responsible for spearheading the debt capital raising strategy for ib vogt APAC's growing portfolio of renewable energy projects. You will lead a dedicated project finance team in securing non-recourse debt and structured financing under tight deadlines to achieve Financial Close for the company's APAC business (particularly the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia).
This role requires a dedicated professional with proven ability of structuring, negotiating, and executing complex project financing transactions.
Key Accountabilities:-
Strategic Financing & Structuring
- Recommend the optimal financing structure and mix of lenders based on the specific risk profile of the project and market.
- Maintain a deep, real-time understanding of regional debt capital market conditions and pricing benchmarks to recommend market-leading structures.
- Work with Portfolio Management team to run sensitivity analysis, scenario testing, and covenant testing (e.g., DSCR, LLCR) for optimal debt sizing and structure.
- Provide critical input on project bankability during the early development and bidding phases.
- Architect strategies to quantify and mitigate critical project risks, including construction risks and complex FX hedging strategies for local currencies (if required).
Transaction Leadership & Execution
- Lead the full cycle of project-level debt financing activities, ensuring a seamless path from RFP to Financial Close on tight timelines
- Review and negotiate key finance documents, including Term Sheets and Security Packages, to ensure they align with the overall deal strategy.
- Oversee the coordination of due diligence efforts and data room management to satisfy lender advisors (Legal, Technical, E&S, Insurance) efficiently.
- Ensure all strategies comply with regional central bank requirements for foreign debt registration and reporting.
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a specialized project finance team, managing workstreams to ensure high-quality output under tight transaction timelines.
Requirements of This Role
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Project Finance, Corporate Finance, or a similar role within an infrastructure developer, commercial/investment bank, or big-four advisory firm.
- Demonstrated experience working within the Southeast Asian region. particularly the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia
- Strong understanding of transaction principles, valuation methodologies, and the ability to handle complex, large datasets and legal documentation
- Proven ability to lead a team through the execution of complex transactions and manage multi-stakeholder lender/investor relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple work streams under tight deadlines and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle complex, large datasets and legal documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. CFA is considered a plus.
