Job Description

About the role

Hexamatics is looking for two Project Management Consultants to join its Programme Management Consultant (PMC) team on a large telecommunications network modernisation programme in Sarawak. This is a 6-month contract role, based at the client office in Kuching City Centre.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the PMC team in providing independent governance and oversight of the programme, from delivery through acceptance and close-out.
  • Monitor the use of agreed project management standards, procedures and processes, and report any gaps found.
  • Track and monitor progress, timelines, cost, scope, risks, issues and dependencies, and report regularly to the PMC Engagement Manager and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and consolidate status reports, dashboards and presentations for management and steering committees, using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Review and assess project data and documents, such as progress records, site evidence, acceptance documents and invoices, for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
  • Carry out low-level audit checks on records and submissions, and log findings clearly for review.
  • Coordinate with client teams and the delivery contractor to collect information, follow up on open items and reduce communication gaps.
  • Assist in maintaining key project records, including schedules, risk registers, issue logs, change requests, decision logs and minutes of meetings.
  • Monitor change requests to check that they are properly assessed, documented and traceable.
  • Use spreadsheets, scripts and AI tools to automate routine data checks and reporting where useful.

About you

  • Degree or Diploma in a Technical field, Engineering, Computer Science, Business or Project Management.
  • Fresh graduates, or up to 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Good to excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review data and documents carefully.
  • Good organisational, communication and coordination skills.
  • Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Available to start in the last week of October 2026.
  • Experience in, or a strong interest in, scripting (Python, VBA) or vibe-coding.
  • Practical use of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in daily work.
