Project Manager (Fully Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead technology delivery for a Hong Kong-based client. You will manage projects involving cloud, data and security initiatives from planning through go-live, keeping scope, budget, timelines and stakeholders aligned. This role works within Hong Kong business hours and requires close, day-to-day collaboration with cross-functional global teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver IT projects end to end, covering scope, schedule, budget, resources and quality

• Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, analysts, architects and testers, including onshore and offshore members

• Run project governance: status reporting, RAID logs, change control, steering committees and stakeholder updates

• Manage client relationships and expectations, acting as the main point of contact for delivery

• Coordinate cloud migration, data platform and security-related workstreams

• Identify, track and mitigate project risks and dependencies proactively

• Clearly articulate project risks, discuss problems openly, and present practical solutions to resolve delivery bottlenecks

• Manage vendors, third parties and contracts where required

• Ensure delivery follows agreed methodologies (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid) and compliance requirements

• Senior level additionally: own multiple or larger-scale programs, mentor junior PMs, shape delivery strategy, manage senior client stakeholders and take accountability for commercial outcomes

Experience

• Mid-Level: 5+ years of project management experience in IT/technology delivery

• Senior: 8-10 years of project management experience, including large or complex multi-workstream programs

• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget

• Prior experience working in a similar capacity at a large Systems Integrator (SI) or IT services company is required

• Experience working with international or regional clients; experience with Hong Kong or APAC clients is anadvantage

Technical Exposure (one or more areas required)

• Cloud: migration, infrastructure or application modernisation projects

• Data: data platforms, analytics, data engineering or BI projects

• Security: cybersecurity, IAM, endpoint or compliance-related projects

• Platforms: Hands-on experience with Microsoft (Azure, Microsoft 365) and/or AWS is essential — candidatesmust have direct, hands-on delivery experience with at least one of these platforms and be very familiar with projects built on that tech stack

Skills

• Strong knowledge of project management frameworks (PMBOK, Agile/Scrum, hybrid)

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple levels and functions

• Highly detail-oriented, with strong planning, budgeting and risk management ability

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills; comfortable working closely with cross-functional, global teams

• Able to clearly articulate risks, discuss problems transparently, and present workable solutions for project bottlenecks

• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, MS Project, Confluence or similar

• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Certifications (preferred)

• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP or CSM

• Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications (e.g. AZ-900, AWS Cloud Practitioner) are a plus

Language Requirements

• Fluent written and spoken English is required

• Good working knowledge of Cantonese is highly preferred, given it is widely spoken across Hong Kong client teams and supports direct day-to-day communication

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or a related field
