Job Description

Company Background:

Our client is a Malaysia-based construction and engineering company involved in a range of infrastructure and building projects. Their services typically include civil works, structural construction, and project management for both public and private sector developments. The company focuses on delivering quality workmanship, timely project completion, and compliance with industry standards, supporting various sectors such as commercial, industrial, and infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage overall construction project execution, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily site activities, including manpower, materials, machinery, and subcontractors.
  • Supervise and guide project team members on technical and operational matters.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project progress and approvals.
  • Review drawings, identify discrepancies, and ensure works are carried out according to approved plans.
  • Monitor project quality, safety, and compliance with contractual requirements, including closure of NCR/AI/EI.
  • Evaluate contractor bids, verify subcontractor claims, and recommend progress payments and contract awards.
  • Support post-contract administration, including variation orders, cost comparison, and final accounts.
  • Attend site, client, and management meetings, and provide regular project progress reports.
  • Coordinate infrastructure works, inspections, testing & commissioning, and ensure timely handover and certification (e.g., CPC).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Preferable 10+ years experience in construction project management, in building or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and site management practices.
  • Good coordination and stakeholder management skills with contractors, consultants, and authorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve site issues, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Willing to be based on-site and travel as required.
