Job Description

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the Lead Engineer, EIC in reviewing and commenting on a wide range of EPCC contractor deliverables, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), protection philosophies, load lists, P&IDs, cable routing layouts, instrument data sheets, and control system architecture diagrams.
  • Verify that all EIC designs and installations adhere to relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, NFPA, ST) and project-specific requirements.
  • Assist in managing and responding to technical queries and requests for information (RFIs) from the EPCC contractor and/or authorities, coordinating with the Owners Engineer as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating EIC interfaces with other disciplines (e.g., civil, EIC) to prevent clashes, proper grounding and ensure seamless integration.
  • Support the Lead Engineer, EIC in witnessing FATs for mechanical equipment as required, documenting the results, and ensuring all tests are conducted according to the approved procedures.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of EIC installations to verify quality. This includes checking cable glanding and termination, instrument mounting and tubing, control panel wiring, and grounding systems to ensure they align with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Regularly walk down the site to monitor the progress of EIC construction activities, including cable pulling, equipment installation, lighting, and grounding system installation.
  • Participate in site safety walks and meetings, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions related to EIC work to the Lead Engineer, EIC and the site safety team.
  • Assist Lead Engineer, EIC in tracking and reporting on the physical progress of mechanical construction and installation activities.
  • Participate in the site walkdowns to create and manage the mechanical punch list, tracking the completion of outstanding items.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from accredited university.
  • Minimum 4 years working experience:
  • At least 2 years in power/utilities/waste management (or similar industry) or
  • 2 years in engineering role for construction projects.
  • Strong technical expertise and knowledge in power plant and waste management, particularly in electrical, instrumentation and control system.
  • Good knowledge in power and waste management related law, policies, codes and standards.
  • Good knowledge in project development, construction management and O&M.
