About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Protege, Executive Shariah Review to join our Shariah Review team. This role provides valuable exposure to Shariah governance, compliance review processes, and Islamic finance practices within the insurance and takaful industry.
The successful candidate will support the Shariah Review function in ensuring that business operations, products, and activities comply with applicable Shariah requirements. The role offers hands-on experience in conducting reviews, monitoring compliance, maintaining documentation, and supporting the implementation of Shariah Review plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting Shariah review assessments and branch reviews.
- Support the monitoring of compliance with Shariah requirements and internal governance frameworks.
- Coordinate review activities and follow up on outstanding findings and management action plans.
- Maintain accurate records, review documentation, and supporting evidence.
- Assist in preparing reports and tracking closure of review findings.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Shariah Review.
- Support awareness initiatives on Shariah requirements and governance practices.
- Assist with other compliance-related and ad-hoc assignments as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Shariah (Fiqh & Usul), Islamic Finance & Banking, Muamalat, or other related disciplines from a recognized institution.
- Exposure to or knowledge of Shariah functions within Takaful, Islamic Banking, or Islamic Financial Institutions is an advantage.
- Good understanding of Shariah governance, Islamic finance principles, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
