Purchasing Coordinator (Melaka but for now in Puchong)

Position: Purchasing Coordinator

Industry: Cryogenics and industrial equipment manufacturing

Location: Taman Perindustrian Pusat Bandar Puchong, 47150 Puchong, Selangor (Required to relocate to Jasin, Melaka once plant completed in March 2027)

Working Hours: Monday - Friday (0800 to 1730)

Employment Type : 12 months contract with PEROL

Salary: RM3,000 – RM5,000 (based on experience & skills) + Statutory Contributions + Leave Entitlement + Medical Coverage

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Purchasing & Procurement Execution

• Process and manage Purchase Orders (PO) through ERP systems
• Review purchasing requirements generated from production, project, and operational needs
• Obtain supplier quotations and coordinate pricing, specifications, and delivery schedules
• Monitor open purchase orders and ensure timely supplier deliveries
• Escalate supply risks and delivery delays proactively

Supplier Management & Coordination

• Liaise with local and overseas suppliers regarding quotations, orders, deliveries, and documentation
• Follow up on shipment status and supplier commitments
• Assist in resolving purchasing issues such as delayed deliveries, quantity discrepancies, and missing documentation
• Support supplier performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives

ERP & Documentation Management

• Maintain accurate purchasing records within ERP systems
• Ensure procurement transactions are updated promptly and accurately
• Manage supplier quotations, purchase orders, delivery records, and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Logistics, Project, and Finance teams
• Provide timely updates on material availability and supplier commitments
• Support urgent procurement requirements to meet operational demands
• Ensure purchasing activities align with production and project timelines

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute ideas to enhance procurement and purchasing efficiency
• Support ERP process improvements and digitalization initiatives
• Assist in standardizing procurement workflows and documentation

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Diploma or Degree in: Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management or Related disciplines
• 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Operations, Material Planning or Supplier Coordination
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Experience dealing with overseas suppliers or imported materials is an added advantage
• Candidates from Manufacturing, Engineering, Oil & Gas, Semiconductor, Industrial Equipment, or Project-Based Industries are highly encouraged to apply
