The Purchasing Quality Expert is responsible for ensuring that purchased materials meet defined quality, specification, and fair-value standards before and during use in production. This role is highly hands-on and operational, with a strong presence on the shop floor and at supplier sites. The expert works closely with Purchasing, Production, Processing, and QA teams to identify, understand, and resolve quality issues, support new material testing, and ensure alignment between supplier specifications and internal requirements across both timber and non-timber materials.
What can you expect
The ideal candidate holds at least a Bachelor's Degree in any field and has a minimum of five years of relevant experience in manufacturing or processing environments, preferably with a quality background.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels, strong interpersonal and analytical abilities, and can work independently with a hands-on, shop-floor mindset. A passion for process improvement and continuous enhancement is essential.
The candidate should also have good documentation and reporting skills, intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications. Basic knowledge of wood species and technology, as well as familiarity with quality processes such as claim reports, supplier specification sheets, and material testing, would be an added advantage.
