Oracle SQL/PLSQL Developer (with Python) 26 Years
About the Role
We're seeking an engineer with deep expertise in Oracle SQL/PL/SQLand strong Pythonscripting/automation skills. You will design high-performance queries, procedures, and automations that support policy, billing, and reporting workflows. Insurance domain knowledge (Life)is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, write, and optimize Oracle SQLqueries, views, materialized views, indexes, and PL/SQLpackages/procedures/functions.
- Analyze execution plans, troubleshoot slow queries, and apply performance tuning (stats, partitions, hints where appropriate).
- Build and maintain Pythonscripts for data pipelines, Excel automation, and system integrations .
- Schedule and monitor via Oracle Scheduler/DBMS_SCHEDULER, Windows Task Scheduler.
- Partner with business users (Actuarial, Policy Service, Claims, Finance) to translate requirements into scalable data solutions and reports.
- Implement data quality checks, logging, alerting, and reconciliation routines.
- Support production issues (root-cause, fixes, post-mortems); uphold SLAs and data accuracy.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 35 yearshands-on with Oracle Database(11g/12c/19c+) and PL/SQL.
- Strong SQL fundamentals: joins, window functions, CTEs, analytic functions, partitioning.
- Proven performance tuning: explain plan, AWR/ASH basics, indexing strategy.
- Practical Pythonfor data engineering/automation (pandas, file I/O, env management, virtualenv/conda).
- Experience building scheduled jobs and batch processes; comfortable on Windows and/or Linux.
- Solid understanding of software craftsmanship: testing, code reviews, documentation, version control.
- Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders; requirements gathering & user support.
Good to Have (Insurance Domain)
- Familiarity with policy lifecycle: new business, endorsements/riders, premium/billing, claims, lapses/surrenders, commissions.
- Exposure to regulatory/statutory reporting and audit controls.
- Knowledge of common insurance data models and terminology.
Tech Stack
- Oracle: SQL , PL/SQL, Forms & Reports,DBMS_SCHEDULER, partitioning, materialized views.
- Python: oracledb/cx_Oracle, pandas, openpyxl, requests, logging
- Version ControlGit, PVCS (nice to have).
- Ops/Platform: Windows Server/Task Scheduler, Linux/cron, shell/PowerShell scripting.

Education
- Bachelors in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
