Job Title: QA Lead Test Automation Engineer
Duration: 12 Months Contract to Hire
Location:KL, Malaysia
Job Description
We are seeking a QA Lead Test Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is a Malaysian citizen with a strong background in software testing, extensive experience in test automation, and the ability to lead and mentor team members. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our software products while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the QA processes for multiple projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables within tight timelines.
- Design, develop, and implement test automation frameworks from scratch using Cypress. Bonus if you can implement it in CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or similar solutions, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. Bonus if you can automate the API testing using Newman or other solutions.
- Mentor and guide team members in QA best practices, automation strategies, and testing methodologies.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and refine testing requirements.
- Develop and document detailed test plans / test cases / test scripts, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Execute the test cases manually and plan for test automation where applicable. After the test cases are manually executed, develop the test automation scripts to be run as regression test where required, and maintain / monitor the automated test scripts.
Requirements
- Malaysian citizen with a minimum of 8 years of experience in software testing.
- Proven experience in developing E2E test automation frameworks using Cypress.
- Exposure and working knowledge with other test automation tools is a plus.
- Strong applied knowledge of version control system (Git).
- Strong knowledge of API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience mentoring and upskilling team members in QA and automation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, open-source software, Linux/UNIX based platform (including cloud environment e.g. AWS) is a plus.
- Ability to read/write code in any programming language is a plus.
