Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

  • Establish and initiate the vision and objectives of the dept.s direction in the light of the total overall environment.
  • Understand the vision and policy of the company and to be involved in the planning and execution of plans to meet the objectives.
  • Ensure that all quality functions are in line with the companys policy.
  • Develop quality systems and programs for meeting quality goals.
  • Assist quality manager in the management of the quality dept.
  • Develop quality plans for meeting quality goals.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal regarding quality issues.
  • Carry out inspections and recording according to relevant procedures/work instructions.
  • Reviewing and initiating RMA, RTV and Nonconformance Reports.
  • Implementing and assuring proper corrective action.
  • Implementing and assuring proper material dispositions and initiating material review board actions if necessary.
  • Requesting Design for Manufacturing from Engineering dept. if necessary to advice customer for complicated quality issue.
  • Responsible for creation and handling of Non-Conformance Reports, Disposition of Nonconformance Materials/Products/Parts and Recording Cost or Poor Quality.
  • Initiation of Quality Caution Cards, Product Deviations or SA. Follow up with customers to ensure acceptance/approval of Product Deviations or SA is given.
  • Administering necessarily follow up on historical problems. Notifying management of critical problem areas.
  • Initiate CAR&aposs and 8D&aposs to supplier if quality issue is caused by their component or process and ensure for its completion.
  • Handle customer complaints; provide timely response with effective preventive actions.
  • Liaise with customers pertaining to quality / environmental audits.
  • Spearhead quality improvement projects when required.
  • Work with Engineering and Prod. Process team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure internal process capability is effective to meet product requirements
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of customer quality issues.
  • Facilitate the escalation of unresolved internal quality issues within assigned projects and suppliers.

Support the Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.

  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system.
  • Understands the customer requirements, business environment and current issues.
  • Support in PPAP&aposs, Control Plans, Process Capabilities Studies, GR&R and FMEA as part of APQP&aposs processes.
  • Conduct training of quality awareness.
  • To perform any job when necessary as per required by management and documented procedure.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Metallurgy.
  • 2-3 years working experience in similar industry.
  • Those without qualification but possess 3-4 years experience in similar position in similar industry will be considered.
  • Able to handle measurement equipment.
  • Conversant in English / Bahasa Malaysia
  • Able to handle computer.
