The Quality Assurance Engineer will be part of the Professional Services team and will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of scenarios or data will require a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of scenarios or data will require a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
- Project tester who requires guidance; may optionally manage small team(s) of project testers.
- Responsible for individual test deliverables and adherence to defined processes and practice.
- Responsible for the entire test cycle from requirement review, defining test plans, tracking progress, developing and maintaining test suites and test tools, test environment setup, change control management and defect management, test execution and test reporting, user acceptance testing and solution sustainment.
- Work closely with E2open program management office, engineering & development teams in a global environment to deliver sophisticated multi-company supply chain process management enterprise software systems to our international clients.
- Work closely with supply chain business process staff from our global customer base to deliver a very high-quality integrated Supply Chain Collaboration solution.
- Work on improving Best Practices in Test Management and in Quality Assurance Process.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent. Additional IT accreditations (such as certification of CTFL, CTAL) would be an advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in functional testing, system integration testing, performance testing or automation testing.
- Entry level software testing certification is desirable.
- Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
- Developing software testing expertise, applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g. Cycle Labs).
- Has knowledge of software engineering.
- Has experience in object-oriented programming and design, Java, scripting, SQL, database and Linux/Unix is preferred.
- Has experience with the software development lifecycle and project delivery.
- Has been exposed to the supply chain management and logistics software and industry.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Must be responsible, organized and possess critical thinking with good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate good analytical problem-solving abilities and strong leadership aptitude.
- Some overseas traveling may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
General office environment and responsibilities requiring:
- Extensive use of the computer, which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday.
- Placing and receiving phone calls.
- Occasionally moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
- May require 10% travel or more, if needed.
