Job Description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As an Outgoing Quality Control Inspector at MKS Malaysia, you will partner with Production team, Quality engineering and Logistic department to performing final inspections and verifications on completed electromechanical assemblies and systems prior to shipment. In this role, you will report to the Quality Engineering Manager/Outgoing Quality Control Team Leader.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Perform final visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on finished electromechanical assemblies and systems per drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Review and confirm Lot History Records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, regulatory standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100), and internal quality procedures.
  • Validate labeling, packaging, and documentation (e.g., Certificates of Conformance, test reports, shipping paperwork).
  • Identify and document nonconformances, initiate NCRs and coordinate with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing for disposition.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records in ERP/QMS systems for traceability.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external audits with objective evidence.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance outgoing inspection efficiency and effectiveness.
  • This position does not require travel with the exception of off-site training as needed.

Skills You Bring:

  • High school or Diploma in Engineering, E&E or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Proficient in using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, torque tools) and basic electrical test equipment (multimeters).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies (e.g., robotics, medical devices, aerospace components).
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship standards.
  • ERP/QMS system experience for inspection documentation.
  • Exposure to functional testing and troubleshooting techniques.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 3040 lbs occasionally; maneuver totes and parts.
  • Prolonged standing/sitting at inspection stations; fine motor skills for small components; use of magnifiers/microscopes.
  • Work in ESD-controlled environment; use PPE as required.
  • Flexibility for shift coverage and occasional overtime to support production schedules.
  • Ability to accurately differentiate color-coded components, markings, and visual indicators in accordance with inspection standards.
