Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Petaling Jaya
Employment Type: Permanent (Direct hire, not under agency)
Working Hours: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5:30 PM
Role Overview:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for cost estimation, tender pricing, cost control, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-tender stage to final account closure.
Job Scope:
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
- Perform rate analysis and prepare competitive tender pricing using current vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and finalize subcontractor and supplier quotations, including commercial terms.
- Monitor and control project costs against approved budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage variations, prepare Variation Orders (VO), and handle claims efficiently.
- Prepare and verify progress claims, payment certifications, and final accounts.
- Support all project stages including pre-tender, tender submission, contract award, construction, and post-completion account closure.
- Ensure accurate cost documentation, reporting, and compliance with contract requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
- 23 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin (to liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts).
