About the Role: -
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing and controlling construction costs across all project phases, from pre-tender through to final account. Working closely with the Contract Manager, design team, and site personnel, this role ensures that projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality and contractual compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities: -
Prepare cost estimates and bill of quantities (BOQ) by studying specifications and drawings
Participate in pre-tendering activities with client, architects, and project managers; raise relevant pre-bid queries from given tenders
Prepare cost comparisons for procurement awarding
Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities
Coordinate with the design team for analysing architectural and service drawings
Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations
Prepare interim and final valuations, variations, and claims for the construction site
Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money
Skills & Requirements: -
Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field with at least 2 years of experience in construction
Strong technical knowledge in construction materials, cost management, and contract administration
Proficient in quantity surveying software and MS Office
Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
