Regional Critical Facilities Operations Lead - APAC
Based in - Cyberjaya or Johor
Reporting to - APAC Head of Critical Infrastructure Operations
Our client is an international digital infrastructure platform developing and operating mission-critical facilities across Asia Pacific and other global markets. The organisation is expanding its regional operating capability and requires a senior MEP-focused leader to oversee reliable, safe and customer-focused facility operations across multiple locations.
The business operates a growing portfolio of data centre assets, including established facilities and sites undergoing expansion, capacity upgrades and infrastructure improvement. The role supports a regional operating model involving internal engineering teams, project delivery functions, customers, property stakeholders and specialist contractors.
Key responsibilities
- Support regional leadership in implementing consistent preventive maintenance programmes across multiple critical facilities.
- Lead on-site responses to emergency maintenance events and coordinate recovery activities with internal teams and external service providers.
- Ensure customer commitments, operational service levels and facility reliability standards are consistently achieved.
- Manage, coach and develop experienced engineering teams while supporting recruitment for future facility expansion.
- Maintain accurate operational information across maintenance management, ticketing, reporting and change-control platforms.
- Directly manage contract technical labour, maintenance vendors and specialist service providers.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, power usage effectiveness, facility security, operating procedures and service quality.
- Support MEP capacity expansion, utility upgrades, repairs, facility improvements and operational readiness activities.
Key requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in critical facilities, data centre operations or an equivalent engineering environment.
- At least 5 years of experience leading engineering, facilities or operations teams.
- Strong MEP background, with practical understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities.
- Detailed knowledge of UPS, PDU, RPP, CRAC, generators, high-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, security and fire / life-safety systems.
- Experience managing recurring preventive maintenance programmes for critical infrastructure equipment.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems, trouble-ticketing platforms, method-of-procedure documentation and formal change-control processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project documents, prepare maintenance procedures and develop installation or operational standards.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent qualification, with formal operational safety training required or strongly preferred.
