Job Summary:
Design, develop, and implement the region's compliance and risk policy framework, including the resolution of non-compliance issues and reporting, and the region's enterprise risk management, aligned with the Group's overall framework.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A degree in Accountancy/Business Studies/Finance/Law is preferred.
- A master's degree in business administration, or other qualifications/studies related to risk management, relevant compliance, or audit certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA/CA, CFE, CRM, etc.) are an added advantage.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably with an Auditor background. Exposure and substantial experience in the retail/FMCG industry are preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a managerial capacity
- Relevant exposure to the local and regional retail environment and a proven track record of managing people, operations, and clients.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of the business and industry.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of excel, SEI tools etc for analyzing consolidated financials numbers, reporting etc.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and execution of an effective corporate compliance and ethics program.
- Proven experience in managing internal reviews/investigations and providing meaningful solutions.
- Proven skills in managing compliance communications, bearing in mind local business practices.
- Demonstrate ability to lead regional/country-level assignments and projects.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of commercial insurance matters.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Implement the Group's compliance policies, procedures, and processes to govern all local compliance programs and their execution.
- Manage the Group's non-compliance incident reporting system for the region (e.g., compliance hotline, email reporting, whistle-blowing avenues), ensuring these incidents are adequately addressed.
- Co-create and execute the Group's corporate compliance training suite locally (e.g. workshops, handbooks, leaflets, development of compliance website, compliance e-learnings, etc.) as part of compliance education. Run periodic train-the-trainer sessions.
- Conduct internal reviews/investigations on all reports of non-compliance to ensure that all non-compliances are adequately dealt with.
- Consolidate and prepare Group compliance reports for submission, as part of communication and accountability on matters pertaining to compliance.
- Support the line manager in managing day-to-day operating expenditures against operating budgets to ensure efficient usage of resources; optimise the cost of risk financing.
- Lead and manage the Group's risk policies, procedures, and processes for the region to govern all local business activities and mitigate risks.
- Manage the Group's enterprise risk management program and end-to-end process for the region to ensure region-wide implementation of a comprehensive, structured risk program, including updated maintenance of the SEA Risk Register, in consultation with the SEA Risk Committee and Chairperson.
- Manage the region's commercial insurance schemes to ensure adequate, up-to-date Group-wide insurance coverage.
- Manage the region's business continuity initiatives (e.g., communication channels, training, appointment of country champions, etc.) to ensure the smooth implementation of business continuity plans when needed.
- Design, develop, and implement the region's internal control policies, procedures, and processes, including managing the region's internal control system to provide a structured, comprehensive control environment.
- Consolidate and prepare risk management reports for submission to the Group Finance/Board of Directors as part of communication and accountability on matters pertaining to risk.
- Partner with countries in mitigating risks. Advise stakeholders on applying the risk policy framework in business execution and ensure effective information flow between all internal and external parties.

- Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive the annual budgeting process and manage rolling quarterly/monthly forecasts.
- Variance Analysis: Compare actual financial results against budgets and forecasts, investigating discrepancies and explaining key business drivers to management.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and executive dashboards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers, insurers, etc., to facilitate smooth year-on-year negotiations for insurance services, as well as with the external compliance community to stay abreast of laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Framing and implementing GRC-related functional (Finance, IT, People) and Business policies across SEA.
- Checking and providing adequate advice on compliance requirements, including tax, annual returns, and pension fund compliance across SEA.
- Compile and maintain company secretarial records for SEA (e.g. shareholder documents, etc.)
- Assist in drafting contracts, liaising with the Global Legal team, and maintaining regular contract trackers across SEA.
