About the Role:

The role holder is responsible for leading the Group's projects (including stores and offices)/site development phases. The role holder is also responsible for ensuring world class design standards which meet the unique identities of each brand and result in a positive impact on the overall profitability while ensuring cost effectiveness.

Core Responsibilities:

Participates in the development of the construction and project management strategies for the Group's projects in line with retail expansion plans of the Group

Ensures complete project management support which includes planning, preparation of proposals, budgeting, scheduling, tendering, negotiations, hiring and managing project consultants

Formulates and ensures the implementation of site project standards and guidelines as associated with the GMG brand to ensure site delivery as per expectations and guides the development of standard operating procedures for the department to ensure smooth delivery of projects within the parameters set by the Business Cost, Time and Quality

Ensures the development and implementation of review processes related to space design, construction, interiors, selection of vendors and contractors, project management and cost control

Oversees the development of zoning in the stores/sites as per the categories of products to be displayed by bearing in mind the principles of space management and profiles of the target consumers

Oversees existing conditions surveys and prepares architectural base plans, sections, elevations and details as appropriate to document relevant conditions

Reviews and recommends to the Business Unit stakeholders any changes that may be required to renovate the existing stores/facilities

Oversees and manages any construction and interior design related work for all GMG Group projects

Maintains relationships with municipal authorities and PRO for approvals of Civil signages and municipality permissions

Ensures the provision of technical support related to design, MEP and other engineering services as required in stores, offices, warehouses/distribution centers

Oversees the preparation of tender documentation in consultation with Business Units stakeholders, designers/architects, contracting team and Projects team

Oversees the technical and commercial evaluation of vendors and guides the Projects team in awarding of the job to successful bidders/vendors

Reviews latest trends and best practices related to Project/ Construction, including but not limited to materials used, process followed, execution methodologies and health & safety aspects and updates management on the same. Proactively proposes and seeks management approval for incorporating such practices within scope of project

Ensures completion of all preliminary documentation required to initiate Facilities Management folder at time of handover of built site to Operations & Facilities Management

Guides the Projects team and ensure all projects are being developed on schedule, on budget and in accordance with the expectations of the Group and the relevant Business Units

Leads vendor/external consultant relationships through planning sessions aimed to define project and performance expectations

Ensures development of policies and procedures to be adhered for effective storage of fit-out equipment and non-selling products (e.g. mannequins, fixtures, hangers) including in-bound and outbound material management

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Planning & Design/ Applied Science

Master's degree in Architecture/Planning & Design/ Applied Science OR Master's degree in Operations Management or Business Administration or other related field, is preferred

Other Preferred Certifications:

Certification in Project Management (PMP)

Certification in Supply Chain Management (CPSM)

A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years in leading large retail projects in a large organization
