The Regional HR Director for Southeast Asia & Australia will lead the strategic and operational HR agenda across multiple countries in the region. This role is pivotal in aligning HR practices with business goals, driving talent strategies, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned HR leader with regional experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute regional HR strategies aligned with global and local business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management.
Talent Acquisition & Management
- Oversee regional talent acquisition efforts, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Partner with country HRBPs and Talent Acquisition leads to ensure consistent hiring standards and employer branding.
Compensation & Benefits
- Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits frameworks tailored to local markets.
- Collaborate with Global Total Rewards to calibrate packages for senior roles.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Champion employee engagement initiatives, DEIB programs, and culture-building efforts.
- Lead regional rollouts of global HR initiatives including training, onboarding, and recognition programs.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure HR operations comply with local labor laws and global governance standards.
- Mitigate HR-related risks through proactive policy development and audit readiness.
HR Operations & Systems
- Oversee payroll, HRIS, and administrative functions across the region.
- Drive process improvements and digital transformation in HR operations.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor HR teams across Southeast Asia & Australia, fostering collaboration and capability development.
- Act as a key liaison between country HR leads and HQ Centres of Excellence.
Reporting & Analytics
- Monitor and report on HR metrics, trends, and strategic outcomes to senior leadership.
- Use people analytics to inform decision-making and improve workforce effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a regional leadership role.
- Proven track record in talent strategy, organizational development, and cross-cultural team leadership.
- Strong understanding of Southeast Asian & Australian labor laws and HR practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in matrixed organizations and working with global HR teams.
