Job Description

Job Summary:

Leading the SEA learning and development end-to-end portfolio and process (inc. leadership development) to achieve financial and organisational objectives, including the development and implementation of a full range of training opportunities in alignment with the Smollan training framework, leveraging on Smollan's suite of interventions/initiatives, taking action and being driven by successful outcomes. Partner with senior leaders, local People Business Partners and regional People Development teams, as well as internal content experts, to obtain input/feedback on the management and execution of planning, implementation, progress monitoring and communication of associated tools, programs, and initiatives in line with the Smollan SEA People Strategy. Manage project budgets and costs in accordance with the annual plan to ensure efficient resource use where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Degree in Human Resource Development or any related discipline

Professional certification is an added advantage

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 8/10 years experience in a similar role

Minimum 5/8 years experience in a managerial capacity

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Excellent knowledge and understanding of learning interventions, best practices and capabilities, training administration and training facilitation skills/capabilities (implementation and execution) using multiple training methods

Proven track record in instructional design, gamification, understanding of best practices regarding digital learning and knowledge of different Learning Technologies and Learner Management applications

Excellent ability to analyse business challenges and provide appropriate solutions to business leaders

Knowledge and understanding of the retail execution business and the overall industry

Ability to provide tactical deployment support/solutions to internal stakeholders

Proven experience in project management and change initiatives; demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within a dynamic team environment

Creative experience and motivation to develop talent within the context of a broader organisational strategy

Advanced research and analytical skills with numeracy and quantitative analysis skills

AI and technology/digital fluency

Excellent proficiency in office productivity tools (e.g. Google Workspace)

Fluent in English (written and spoken), Malay/Thai/Chinese/Vietnamese adds an advantage

Ability to work with diverse cultures and multiple levels

Strong communication and influencing skills

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

General

Delivery of training/interventions - leadership/soft skills and field teams elevation (inc. co-creation of Product Knowledge training with respective country Operations Teams)

Proactively collaborate with market leads/heads to identify skills gaps and learning needs to support business initiatives/goals, and roll out appropriate competency-based training programs that address these.

Implement and deliver learning initiatives in collaboration with market Senior General/General Managers, People Leads, and functional teams, with business-aligned deliverables and outcomes, and involve cross-functional channels to coordinate People's continuous improvement processes/efforts.

Execute the foundational learning framework for Smollan SEA (inc. compliance and field operation learning hubs).

Implement and deliver relevant training materials to meet specific business requirements, in collaboration with subject-matter experts (including the Centre of Excellence, BI, Field Operations Steps To The Call/Product Knowledge,, etc.), to develop and implement functional skills programs based on defined training needs.

Implement learning solutions that enable the growth of our people and business, developing and enhancing learners experiences to translate into meaningful learning engagement and better sustainable business outcomes, driving and elevating Smollan LXP (Gnowbe)

Full SEA responsibility and accountability for Smollan LXP.

Lead and drive the implementation of the entire end-to-end SEA learning management process (plan implement reporting) to enhance professionalism and quality standards of Smollan's training services, including the development of relevant metrics and measures to capture return on investment (ROI) on the delivery of the training modules, and monitor monthly reporting on people development agreed metrics.

Assess and monitor the impact and effectiveness of learning interventions at both the individual learner and organisational levels, and employ innovative, scalable capabilities that include action learning, self-directed learning, and mobile learning. Respond to insights and findings, and deploy intervention actions as appropriate. Track and ensure continuous engagement on LXP and other learning platforms.

Establish, develop, and manage internal trainer networks to provide a learning and experience-sharing platform among the trainers, promoting a learning culture within Smollan.

Support functional managers in building and enhancing service offerings under the SEA Acceleration Hub.

Partner with Centres of Excellence in coordination with relevant initiatives and secure agreement with management teams on implementation timelines. Ensure that all formulated and agreed People activities align with Smollan's strategic plans.

Review periodical data/reports to provide validated People metrics and benchmarks for business decision making, including the analysis of trends and prioritisation of budget allocations in partnership with respective market People teams, where applicable.

Facilitate and support leaders in the purposeful fulfilment of their leadership role

Drive self-learning and establish oneself as a Thought Leader. Improvement in People Centres of Excellence and Smollan Guiding Principles role-modelling as part of continuous development

Note: Specific KPIs will be set on the curation of training content and facilitating/delivering training

programmes, when needed
