Role Description

Registrar / Manager (Permanent, Full-Time, On-Site)

Bukit Mertajam, Penang

This is a mandatory senior leadership position under the college constitution and governance framework. The Registrar / Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring institutional compliance, academic integrity, and operational efficiency in a dynamic higher education setting focused on healthcare programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all academic administration and governance processes to align with statutory regulations, MQA accreditation standards, and institutional policies
  • Manage core academic operations, including student admissions, examinations, certification/graduation processes, and senate/academic board matters
  • Maintain accurate and secure student records, enrollment data, and academic documentation
  • Coordinate course scheduling, student registration, and related administrative activities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the registrar's office, ensuring seamless collaboration with faculty, academic departments, and senior management
  • Monitor and implement compliance with higher education regulations and accreditation requirements
  • Support exceptional service to students, staff, and stakeholders while upholding data confidentiality and institutional standards

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Management, Administration, or a closely related field (essential)
  • 510 years of relevant experience in academic administration, higher education management, or institutional governance (mandatory)
  • Strong, practical knowledge of Malaysian higher education regulations, MQA accreditation processes, and institutional governance frameworks
  • Proven hands-on experience managing academic processes (admissions, examinations, certification, senate matters)
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, time management, and leadership skills
  • Superior communication, collaboration, and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with student information systems (SIS), database management, and educational technology tools
  • Ability to lead a team and drive efficient, compliant operations in a regulated environment
  • Prior experience in a registrar or similar academic administrative role in higher education (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of private higher education institutions in Malaysia is advantageous
