Summary of the Role
As an R&D Intern, you will support the Research & Development team in daily product development activities, including sensory evaluation, laboratory testing, data management and kitchen trials. This role provides handson exposure to food product development processes, raw material evaluation, and crossfunctional project support, offering a strong foundation for a career in food R&D.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and assist in sensory evaluations such as triangle tests, structured inspections, and competitive benchmarking.
- Support laboratory testing for chemical and physical analyses (e.g. Brix, pH, acidity, salt, viscosity, Bostwick).
- Support weekly shelflife assessments and raw material evaluations, including alternative material comparisons.
- Provide handson support for trials and projects related to New Product Development (NPD), GE, and BCP initiatives.
- Assist with specification reviews, shelflife report compilation, and documentation support, including file standardization, shareddrive housekeeping, and filing systems.
- Assist Kitchen Bench (KB) activities, including weighing, blending, cooking, filling, and cleaning.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of food science principles, ingredients, and food processing is an advantage.
- Comfortable with documentation, and basic report preparation and willingness to work in laboratory and kitchen environments.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and instructions.
