ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a detailed understanding of the current & future needs in the home & personal care industry under changing regulatory requirements & growing end-user desire for more sustainable products.
- Efficiently design, propose, execute and report the outcome of the application of oleochemicals on home & personal care experiments to the Manager, Principal Research.
- Perform physicochemical characterisations and performance evaluation of ingredients and formulated home & personal care products according to compendial or non-routine approaches.
- Work closely with Researcher I and the lab technician on the execution of experiments on ingredients and formulation investigation and data analysis.
- Support any laboratory activities, including general upkeep, chemical storage, and maintenance of equipment and instruments.
- Prepare respective information and data for publication in relevant journals and/or patent disclosure if applicable.
JOB SUCCESS REQUIREMENTS
- A PhD or Master's in Chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience in Applied Chemistry or Colloid Chemistry.
- Life sciences graduates will not be considered.
- Hands-on experience in the home and personal care industry, able to conduct finished products performance assessment including physicochemical, stability, sensory, detergency, scrub test, etc.
- Experience in formulating personal care; toiletries or household products including shampoo, shower gel, cream, lotion, moisturizer and household cleaning products.
- Strong knowledge of colloidal chemistry and consumer benefits of home and personal care ingredients is preferred.
