Resident Engineer Trellix Data Loss Prevention

Job Purpose

To serve as the dedicated onsite support for Government Agency, managing, administering, and supporting the solution implemented and to be implemented on the Client , including and not limited to Trellix and Skyhigh solutions. 

The Resident Engineer (RE) will ensure solutions such as Data Loss Prevention, handle on-going system support, coordinate issues resolution, reporting, coordination issue resolution, change request, and policy enforcement in collaboration with Client and CSP teams.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation and Management

• Deploy, configure, manage, and upgrade Trellix and Skyhigh components
• Assign, edit, and implement policies aligned with agency security and compliance requirements.
• Ensure agent health, policy enforcement, and compatibility with components implemented. 
• Manage and report DLP incidents, alerts, and workflows, including investigation and remediation support.

Operations and Support

• Provide L2/L3 operational support for Trellix and Skyhigh components implemented. 
• Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts; proactively address issues
• Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in coordination with change management processes.
• Escalate complex issues to CSP or product Principal support as needed.
• Track and update issue logs, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with the internal network, endpoints and other related teams. 
• Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to internal staff.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams.
• Prepare operational reports, incident summaries, and status updates for stakeholders.

Security Incident Support

• Assist in the identification, investigation, and remediation of Solution-related incidents.
• Provide recommendations for risk mitigation and resolution.

Compliance & Reporting

• Perform regular audits, generate compliance checks, and security assessments related for internal and external purposes.
• Submit reports such as incident, operational, health check, and preventive maintenance to both client and CSP.

Participation in Customer Initiatives

• Support activities related to DR exercises, policy updates, solution policy and product reviews, and project coordination relevant to the Trellix and Skyhigh solutions.

Suggested Skillset

Requirements

• Proven experience with Trellix DLP or any endpoint DLP solutions.
• Strong understanding of: 
• Data protection and data classification concepts
• Email and web gateways
• Endpoint security technologies
• Experience with Windows endpoints and server environments.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Proficiency in Excel and Reporting.
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia effectively.

Soft Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a resident/on-site role.
• Clear communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• High attention to detail and adherence to security procedures.

Experience

• 2+ years in cybersecurity or endpoint/data protection roles.
• Experience working in government, regulated, or high-security environments is highly desirable.
