Currie & Brown is currently looking Resident Mechanical Engineer a data centre projects in three different site in Malaysia ( Bkt Jalil, Nilai. Cyberjaya).
Responsibilities for the successful candidates will include:
- Will be on site assist the Construction Manager (CM) and General Contractor on construction of the projects in a timely manner.
- To conduct daily site walks to review progress, general quality of works, raise quality
- and provide updates to the project team.
- To review the agreed Inspection and Test Plan which will be developed by the General
- and provided to the RE.
- To Attend Project meetings, and set up ad-hoc meeting with the Design Consultants
- any other project related stakeholders
- To Provide Weekly Reports on the site progress including but not limited to, metrics on benchmarks, RFI's, Technical Conduct Equipment Installation reviews to ensure all equipment are installed as per approved shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Installation Inspection Report (IIR) highlighting any non-conformance. Follow up withcontractor for rectification and close-out.
- To Perform routine examination and checks of the ongoing work to ensure that the work's quality installation and execution are maintained per the contract documents. This includes required testing and final follow-up checks conducted and all deficiencies corrected to ensure the contractor shall not build upon or conceal non-conforming work
- Provide evaluation of the installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) equipment, systems, and MEP systems rough-in.
- Assess GC means and methods for compliance with the most stringent requirement of applicable global, national, and local standards, and immediately notify client of any deficiencies.
- Evaluate the proper levels of protection during construction for equipment and systems and GC maintains client's minimum standards outlines in the Equipment Protection Plan.
- Evaluate that the final installed product has been installed, checked inspected, and signed off, in order to proceed into commissioning.
- To record each and every defect/issue found as an Observation on Procore.
a. Provide additional oversight in confirming that observations/issues are being updated appropriately, prioritized, and push for issue closure.
- To communicate safety observations to GCs daily and engage constantly to ensure issues are addressed and closed.
- Attend GCs safety committee meetings.
Requirements:
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 - 7 years experience the related field is required for this position. Registered as Professional Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team
- Positive attitude, highly initiative and able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
