Role Description
The primary responsibilities of the Business Development & Leasing Manager include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing retail leasing activities and building relationships with key stakeholders. The role requires analysing market trends, negotiating leases with landlords, meeting leasing targets, and playing a significant role in the company's retail expansion strategy.
Responsibilities
Responsible for creating compelling propositions that generate income across a range of income streams, from strategic to commercial and brand partnership
Identify new prospects for growth, both online and offline, and provide clarity on the commercial opportunity and operational model
Planning, creating, and executing trade partnership strategies, policies, and best practices that are effective for the whole business segment
To build strategic business relationships with business partners in order to create a win-win cooperation in a long-term business strategy
Identify consumer requirements and opportunities by analysing business gaps and developing a plan to minimise or fill the gaps
Initiate market research in order to create solid customer insights and market trends
Analyse and research existing and prospective business and priorities in order to improve the company's competitiveness
Coordinate with landlord & project team for new store opening, review the letter of offer & Tenancy Agreement and ensure the information stated is correct.
Initiate discussion with landlord for all leasing issues
Coordinate discussion between project team and mall fit-out team
Arrange payment to the landlord accordingly and closely follow up on the payment status with Finance before the stipulated deadline
Participate & support in all outlets events, as and when needed
Performs any other ad hoc duties as required
Requirements
Holds a tertiary qualification in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Marketing or a related discipline
At least 7 years of work experience in business development with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Excellent communication skills and the ability to write great proposals, lead productive meetings and build strong relationships with stakeholders
Entrepreneurial business development mindset
Demonstrated discernment and strong prioritization skills
Proactive, independent, positive attitude and able to work in a highly pressured and fast-paced working environment
Keep abreast with latest market trends and development, with sound knowledge of competitors activities
Possess analytical skills and ability to understand consumer insights
Good knowledge of research tools for analysis and understanding of database technology
Proficient in Microsoft office applications (i.e., Excel and PowerPoint)
