Risk Analyst, Risk Strategy and Model Risk Management

Job Description

• Support implementation of MRM policies and procedures to create enhancements on organizational culture and various stakeholders expectations of Model Risk Management
• Support development and maintenance of model inventory protocol, model inventory design and model maintenance
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to drive MRM initiatives.
• Lead efficient communication to ensure topics relevant to Data Governance, Data related incidents, Data Quality, Data strategic initiatives, as well as Information Security updates are communicated via Data Management Committee accordingly
• Use of analytical and visualization software to access, transform, integrate, analyze and visualize data to help solve real problems and provide real business insights through identification of anomalies and unusual patterns and trends in data
• Servicing request on methodology review or technical computation by other risk divisions, including but not limited to impact analysis, risk scoring, operational loss computation, valuation and pricing process.
• Support innovation projects and use programming tools/ robotics software to automate manual tasks for efficiency and cost savings for Risk Management division.
• Collaborate with internal Risk teams to identify existing gaps in current Risk processes due to lack of digitalization and create appropriate solutions to digitalize Risk processes by means of advanced technology (e.g., RPA, Python, SAS)
• To support and ensure Board of Directors and Senior Management Committee have adequate oversight of the model risk management profile to ensure proper measured is put in place in managing the risk to the organization, its employees, customers, reputation, assets and interests of stakeholders (shareholders, regulators).
• To ensure consistency of model risk framework, policy, guidelines, and processes within MAHB. To drive strategies to promote Model Risk culture, specifically in the understanding and application of the MAHB model risk policy, tools, policies and standards.
• To support model lifecycle risk management. To support and ensure that Data Management Committee has adequate oversight over Data risk in Etiqa. To improve existing processes and automate processes within Risk Management Department.
• Support the Head, Risk Strategy and Model Risk Management (RSM) in Risk Transformation activities within Risk Department.

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Science & Technology, business management, actuarial science, finance, risk, mathematics, statistics and/or other related financial disciplines.
• min of 2 years and above of working experience in related discipline/field in Insurance/Takaful Industry and any financial institutions specifically in looking at data and models.
• Proficiency in Computer software – MS Office and Excel VBA
• Working experience in visualization tools: QlikView, PowerBI, Excel, SAS is an advantage
• Additional experience in Finance Institute (Bank, Insurance industry) and familiarity with Python, SAS, coding and models built on such languages are an added advantage.
• Have strong analytical skills and sound knowledge of insurance industry's operational risk profile and other regulatory/ best practice's risk frameworks
• Knowledge of programming language such as Python, MongoDB, Node.JS, Flutter, Angular framework and etc. is a definite advantage.
• Good communication and analytical skill.
