About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking Risk & Compliance Strategy professional to drive strategic initiatives across APAC markets. This role will focus on shaping the framework, policies, and execution strategies for KYC, transaction monitoring, and compliance programs, ensuring that business growth is aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of financial crime risk, regional regulatory requirements, and cross-border compliance challenges, with the ability to translate them into scalable and practical strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Framework Development

  • Develop and refine APAC risk management and compliance strategies for KYC, transaction monitoring, AML/CFT, and broader regulatory areas.
  • Anticipate regulatory trends and industry developments, advising on their potential impact to business operations.

Risk Assessment & Controls

  • Conduct risk assessments and identify gaps in existing processes across APAC markets.
  • Define and implement effective risk mitigation controls in partnership with Operations, Product, and Technology teams.

Policy & Process Implementation

  • Draft and maintain policies, standards, and procedures aligned with global and local regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure consistent rollout of compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with regional stakeholders including Compliance, Risk Operations, Product, and Legal to embed compliance considerations into new business initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to support the design of onboarding, monitoring, and remediation processes.

Regulatory Engagement & Reporting

  • Support regulatory examinations and audits across the region.
  • Develop strategic materials and risk reports for senior management and regulators.

Innovation & Process Improvement

  • Leverage data analytics and technology-driven solutions to enhance KYC and transaction monitoring effectiveness.
  • Recommend process improvements to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Law, or related discipline (Masters preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in Risk, Compliance, or Financial Crime within financial services, consulting, or fintech.
  • Solid understanding of APAC regulatory frameworks
  • Hands-on knowledge of KYC, AML, CFT, and transaction monitoring frameworks.
  • Proven ability to translate complex regulations into actionable business strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to influence across functions and regions.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven risk assessments and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Mandarin is a plus).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in digital banking, payments, or fintech.
  • Familiarity with regtech tools for KYC, transaction monitoring, and risk management.
  • Strong problem-solving and change management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with execution capability.
