In this role you will be responsible for:- Primary point of contact to liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, customers, certification and regulatory bodies.
Responsible on all safety & health, environmental acts and procedures.- Prepare and maintain all safety & health related documentation & liaise with Government related authorities and agencies (OHSAS 18001).
Provide and record PPE, lead toolbox meeting on regular basis, ensure all employees are in compliance with safety & health regulations.
- Responsible for any accident investigation, report, and submission of report to DOSH.
Lead the safety and health committee and carry out the quarterly meeting.- To continuously, advise and implement new or existing EHS related legislation, rules and regulations in standards that is in compliance to DOSH and DOE.
Fire prevention, site inspection and reporting as per DBKL & BOMBA requirements.
- Ensure the Environmental Management System is effective, in line with the policies, procedures, applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
Full responsibility for preparation for HSE audits, and all other audits including ISO-45001& ISO - Support the implementation of the safety and wellness strategic plan in areas of responsibility (Cochlear Malaysia, inclusive of plant and equipment and chemicals within manufacturing site and maintaining a safe working environment across entire site)
Support the monitoring and reporting of safety and wellness performance. Support implementation and monitor compliance with Cochlears Safety and Wellness Management System in collaboration with the Director, Global Safety and Wellness.
- Provide subject matter expertise to facilitate the completion of site projects, operational reviews and compliance activities for the site.
Contribute to the identification of risk factors and the analysis and prioritization of safety and wellness risks in Cochlears workplaces. Lead or facilitate the investigation of workplace incidents.- Monitor and report on Safety and Wellness trends and share learning's with operational management and Safety and Wellness team peers.
Identify training needs and ensure delivery of education and training to address needs.
- Participate in early intervention activities to assist with the injury prevention
Effectively manage injuries and illness on a regular basis including non-work related injury and illness and related recovery at work activity.- Liaise closely with insurance case managers and all stakeholders to minimize lost time and provide for a timely recovery at work.

- Minimum Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management or equivalent.
Experience in liaising with Government related authorities and agencies ie. DOSH, DOE is a MUST for this position.
- Experience in Bomba & DBKL submission of reports to these relevant authorities and agencies.
Sound knowledge in
Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514) and Factories and
Machinery Act 1967 (Act 139) is a MUST for this role.
- MUST be well-versed with ESH Management Systems: OHSAS 18001 upgrade to ISO 45001 (execution of the requirement systems) system requirements.
Experience in planning and conducting HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Control)
activities for the assessment of physical hazards is highly essential for this position.MUST have experience in
managing scheduled waste movement, storage and reporting to DOE. Good hands on experience in MS Office applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication in English and Bahasa Melayu is highly essential for this position.
