Job Description

Industry: Fintech

Working Duration: 12 months contract (Renewable subjected to performance)

Working Location: Penang - Open to travel

Working Day/Hours: Monday – Friday; 9am – 6pm. 

Salary: Basic up to MYR 3,300 (Based on experience + skills) + RM 300 Allowance / month + Entitled to monthly commission with statutory contribution + leave entitlement + medical insurance

We are looking for a Merchant Growth Specialist to drive merchant acquisition, activation, and retention across company's Omnicommerce portfolio. You will be responsible for growing our merchant ecosystem in the Dine-out Deals, Table Reservation, and Loyalty-as-a-Service (LaaS) verticals, helping F&B merchants maximize their revenue through company's comprehensive omnichannel solutions.

 

This position is on-site and based in our Penang, Malaysia office. The role requires candidates to have their own transportation and be able to travel across both Penang Island and Mainland Penang.

 

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform:

Identify, prospect, and onboard new F&B merchants (restaurants, cafes, bars, cloud kitchens) to company's Omnicommerce platform

Conduct market mapping and competitive analysis to identify high-potential merchant segments

Deliver compelling product demonstrations showcasing the value proposition of Dine-out Deals, Table Reservation, and Loyalty solutions

Negotiate commercial terms and contractual agreements with merchants

Develop and implement strategies to boost GMV and transaction volume, while monitoring key performance metrics like conversion and redemption rates.

Offer insights and recommendations for optimizing merchants omnichannel presence and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within the Omnicommerce product suite.

Act as the main contact for merchants to ensure satisfaction and retention, conduct business reviews to demonstrate ROI, and troubleshoot issues by coordinating with internal teams.

Stay informed on F&B trends and competitor activities, and gather merchant feedback to guide product development and feature enhancements.

 

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

2-4 years in merchant acquisition, business development, account management, or partnerships, preferably in the F&B, hospitality, or e-commerce industries. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue targets.

Strong understanding of the F&B industry, restaurant operations, and familiarity with the grocery and retail industry is advantageous.

Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Proficient in data analysis and CRM tools like Salesforce, Google Sheets, SQL

Analytical mindset, self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently.
